Dr. Mimbella is a double board-certified physiatrist. He is an expert in interventional spine, musculoskeletal, and sports medicine.
Physiatry is a branch of medicine geared towards improving a patient’s quality of life and function. It takes a truly multidisciplinary approach to tackling difficult medical problems. Working hand-in-hand with other physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, OTs, PTs, SLPs, massage therapists, acupuncturists, mental health specialists, case managers, and most importantly the patient themselves, Dr. Mimbella enjoys helping patients who have been injured achieve their highest potential of improvement. Dr. Mimbella believes that everyone can improve.
Dr. Mimbella graduated with honors from the University of Miami where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise Physiology. He then completed medical school at St. George’s University as a student member of the Keith B Taylor’s Global Scholar’s Program studying at Northumbria University in Newcastle, United Kingdom. His internship was completed in NYC at Weill Cornell’s Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. He then continued his residency training in Physiatry at the University of Texas at Houston, where he served as Academic Chief Resident. After residency, he opted for further subspecialty fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in (the) Bronx, NY. Dr. Mimbella has trained and practiced in diverse settings across multiple states in the US and even other countries. He recently moved to the Pacific Northwest to be near his family.
